The original planned drive through workshop in half of the old shop has been reworked into a new home office and gym area . The Welsh chapel dark wood vestry door on the left will access the running machine and wall TV/DVD to show Ashes cricket highlights only !!! when working out on the cleverly cushioned running machine specially designed for dodgy knees and fat blokes who can not run on pavements for above medical reasons! !. The old Victorian door on the right that is unstained has been stolen from the rear staircase and will become a new office door with desk access that looks out onto the bay window at the front with all the dog walkers heading for the park . Ceiling has been plastered. Fireplace closed and bricks exposed, cleaned and sealed. IKEA storage unit will divide the office and gym with a moveable dividing wall that will be on 4 " caster wheels eventually. Original Victorian floorboards have been exposed , repaired/replaced where rotted at front door section and sanded ready for wax oiling

The plaster walls have been tested for damaged and blown plaster which has been removed leaving about a 9 metre x 1 metre section of plaster wall that needs repairing and replastering .
The bare walls have been cleaned of dust and old loose mortar and primed with a 5 to 1 water to PVA mix to seal the bricks. Next they have had a 3 to 1 PVA bonding mix added to form a tacky bonding surface for the first layer of bonding plaster
I need to match the original 20mm deep plaster so have planned for 2 x 9mm layer coats of bonding plaster with the first coat keyed ready to adhere to the second coat and a final finishing plaster mix of 2 mm.

Above wall section cleaned and primed - Planned window outline left awaiting planning permission to look out onto the garden and raised deck /BBQ area .
Your will need a plaster hawk and trowel and plaster from the bottom up to the original plaster with a depth of 8/10mm of rough plaster then about an hour after plastering when the plaster is firm but not dry using a sharp knife key the plaster into 5 inch squares about 1 mm deep as below so that the rough plaster will adhere to the planned second coat .

I have bolted the base stud wall structure to the steel beam and the two walls and fixed the base plate to the floor with rawplugs and large screws and plan to run the electric main through the stud wood for additional sockets needed . More noggins are required when the plasterboard arrives with the wooden joints planned every 60 cms of the 1.2 metre board..
to be continued...........
